We dispense all types of oral contraceptive pills. The pill contains artificial version of female hormones, which can help to prevent the release of an egg during ovulation hence making it harder for the sperm to reach the egg. All pills work differently and react differently, if you have any concerns or would like to discuss something with our pharmacist simply pop in.
Emergency contraception can prevent pregnancy after unprotected sex or if your contraceptive method has failed. Our pharmacist will speak to you in privacy to check if you are suitable for the morning after pill. The emergency contraception pill also known as the 'Morning After Pill' should be taken within 72 hours of having sexual intercourse. the sooner you take the pill the more effective it is.

We use Levonelle, which contains levonorgestrel, a synthetic version of the natural hormone progesterone. It does not interfere with your regular method of contraception and can be used whilst breastfeeding. The WHO does not identify any medical condition that would mean a woman shouldn’t use Levonelle. If you live in England, you're under 25 and are sexually active, it is recommended that you get tested every year or when you change sexual partner to reduce the risk of ever catching chlamydia. Simply speak to our pharmacist who will be able to help.
The recommended test for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea is simple, painless and generally very reliable. We will simply request you to provide us with a urine sample.
We also recommend you get tested if you have had unprotected sex with a new partner.
Getting tested is the only way to figure out your HIV status. If you have had unprotected sex or have share syringes, you are at risk of contracting the HIV.
Syphilis is very common amongst sexually active people. We recommend getting tested once a year or whenever you change partners (both you and your partner should be tested together). STIs can often remain undetected and if not treated can lead to serious health problems. The test is simple, painless and very reliable. We will simply request you to provide us with a urine sample.
